122.6 Million Forcibly Displaced WorldWide
UNHCR statistics show that there are over 122.6 million forcibly displaced persons worldwide. These are results of varying factors such persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations or events seriously disturbing public order.
47 Million are children
An estimated 47 million forcibly displaced persons are children below 18 years of age. 2 Million children were born as refugees between 2018 and 2023. That is an average of 339,000 children.
4.4 Million stateless people
UNHCR data reports that there are over 4.4 million stateless people residing in 97 countries. Though the real figure would be significantly higher. The largest stateless populations include Rohingyas from Myanmar.
